Dryer Sheets are Bad

I was just reading something on a site that I found to be quite interesting....dryer sheets are bad for your health and that you really should not use them with your clothes because they can cause may disorders and health problems. I found this information out on a site called Nivana Safe Haven. Here is part of the article I was reading...

These chemicals are in the approved E.P.A. dryer sheets

Cleanse

Last month my husband did the herbal Colon Cleanser and it was quite something. He didn't like the process since it was his first time but he really did feel so much better afterwards. And to detox your body of toxins is just so important when it comes to maintaining your overall health. It is actually key to your personal wellness. And you can get it right over the counter and at the market today. The colon cleanse can help you get rid of all those toxins that have been building up in your digestive system and tract all those years. And if you have ever seen a picture you would be completely and totally grossed out!!!

Homemade Shampoo

If you are on a budget but you still want that really nice shampo then here is a great way to get it. Just get some plain baby shampoo. I like the johnson and johnson kind. If you have oily hair and would like really nice highlights then try chamomile. Get a saucepan and put just enough water in it to cover the herbs of the tea bag. Get it to a boil and then let the herbs steep in it for around 20 minutes. Then add the liquid to the shampoo. You will have a nice shampoo that is salon quality! And your hair will look and smell great!

Make Your Own Salt Scrub

I just love making my own scrubs. I have made honey and sugar scrubs for my face but lately I have been making body scrubs and I just love them. It i just so easy to do and a lot less expensive than the things you buy in the beauty shops! Just mix a cup of salt - Epsom salt is what I use with virgin olive oil. I then add a few drops of peppermint oil for my own scent and pleasure. Then I use it as a scrub - it is not only refreshing but it makes your skin look and feel so healthy!!

Chemical Peels

I had chemical peels done for a little over a year on my face every 8 weeks. And the first time I had it done I was in shock. The first time is the worst though. My skin literally peeled for 2 weeks...it was horrible and embarrassing. If you have never had a chemical peel do not do it right before a special occasion or even...give your self at least 3 weeks for your skin to repair itself. My skin was in pain too - stay out of the sun and the wind after a chemical peel that is for sure! And get some nice lotion from your dermatologist because you will need it!

Running

Running is a great way to exercise...that is if you do not have bad knees like I do! My husband just loves to run and always has. I think running is one of those things that you either really really like and enjoy to do it or you just do not like to but you do because you know it is good for your health. Running to me was always great in theory but after 10 minutes of it I just didn't like it at all and would much rather be doing something else.

My husband has around a 1/2 dozen different running shoes too. Some he keeps here and some he keeps at his work so he can go running before work. He even has the kind of running shoes that have the ipod stuck in them so you can listen to music while you are running..kinda cool

Sleep and Acid Reflux

I have a very good friend that has always suffered from acid reflux and it gets a lot worse at night when she is trying to sleep. She found that sleeping on an incline has really helped her out alot. There are actually sleep incliners that you can by to put on your existing mattress so you can sleep better if you suffer from acid reflux. Or you can go and get the beds that are adjustable.

Fatty Foods To Cut Out Of Your Diet

Here are some foods you may just want to cut out of your diet if you are on a diet or if you are just trying to stay healthy..... fried foods, burgers, pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage, cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream, sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces. Of course you can have some once in a while...but everything in moderation...just do not overdo it and don't forget your fruits and veggies!!!

Don't Forget To Move

Do not forget to move throughout the day. Especially if you have that desk job and you are sitting for the better part of the day. Make the effort to get up and move around. Perhaps go up and down the stair instead of the escalators or elevators. Mow the lawn with that push lawn mover, or even just walk your dog. You don't have to go to the gym or go to that aerobics class..just get up and move!

Stem Cell

I think it is remarkable the findings they are getting with stem cell research. Mothers that bank the stem cells immediately after their child is born are really making a great investment. Hopefully you will never have to use it but it could really save your child's life having those stem cells stored for you. There is a lot of technical terms in this article but I was very interested in the findings...

Exercise Can Be Fun

Exercising does not have to be work...it can actually be a lot of fun actually. Just find something that you like to do. Swimming is a great way to exercise. Another great way to stay in shape is skating...it is not just something you use to get together with all your friends back in the 80's

If you are looking for a pair of K2 Inline Skates then a site that I have come to enjoy is Modern Skate. My daughter has been interested in outdoor activities...we have tried a few and they were just not for her and she didn't enjoy them so we are trying other things now and skating is one of them. If anything she will get great exercise that is for sure!

Healthy Pregnancy Weight

So they say that a healthy weight gain when you are pregnant is between 25 pounds and 37 pounds....that is pretty reasonable but I gained 70 with each of my pregnancies. I always had good doctor appointments though - my blood pressure was always just right on. It is just important to make sure that you always go for your regular check ups.

Plastic Bottles

You may just want to consider switching to the good old fashioned glass bottles because the plastic bottles are becoming quite a health concern. the plastics release a toxin when they are heated. So if you have that water bottle that as been sitting in the car heating up...throw it away and do not drink it. It has been linked to cancers like breast cancer infact. Bisphenol A is the culprit and I read a great article on it called Baby's Toxic Bottle. Read this article if you use plastic bottles.

Mr. Pumice

I got this Mr. Pumice a few months ago and over time I hae notice an huge improvement in my feet. I have always had bad feet...well that is ever since I had children. Pregancy weight that I had gained with my pregnancies really did a number on my feet. I like Mr. Pumice because it has those two different sides. And it really lasts and doesn't get all yucky and discusting like my other pumice bars. The best price I have seen for this product and where I have got it was at www.beautifulperfumes.com - there may be better prices out there so look around first but this was under $3 and I got it super quick from this site.

Honey Based Lip Gloss

If you have honey based lip balm or lip balm that is primarily made up of honey then you also have a temporary solution to your minor cuts, nicks, wounds or burns. If you have a tiny cut that is irritating then you may just want to put some of your lip balm on it to help sooth the pain and reduce the chance of infection. Honey has great healing properties and is great for antibacterial and antifungal uses. And it really makes your lips nourished and healthy looking and feeling.

Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is something that is growing in popularity because of it's ability to fight viruses and bacterial infections so successfully. Raw honey is very good for colds but this type of honey actually will fight infections and have been known to actually help with cancer in the mouth. But do not heat up this honey or any honey because it will get rid of the great health benefits.
