What a great gift a grandfather clock would be for someone special in your life. And there are just so many out there like the howard miller clocks. Those are just so fabulous. I personally love the oak and the lighter wood clocks. For some reason all the dark wood furniture I have ever owned seems to get noticably scratched the day that I get the thing! If I got a grandfathers clock it would be the one with the curio in it - I LOVE them! And I have the perfect place for it. Right now there is a changing table there but as soon as this baby is potty trained this thing will be going and hopefully replaced and soon by the Cherish Grandfather clock.
These make for fabulous anniversary gifts too. My grandmother has one that she got for their 25th anniversary and that was decades ago and it is still working and looking beautiful. That is the thing with grandfather clocks...if you take care of them then they can last for such a long time and even be a great heirloom to past town from generation to generation. My husband knows how much I like grandfather clocks so I am hoping one of these days he will actually get the hints that I am dropping to him
